Open Access Statement
Open Access Statement
The Nigerian Journal of Applied Physics (NJAP) is a strong supporter of open access. All research articles published in NJAP are fully open access — made freely and permanently available to the global research community and the general public immediately upon publication, with no subscription, registration, or payment required from readers.
What Open Access Means for NJAP
Open access in NJAP means that every published article is:
- Freely available online to all users worldwide — no paywall, no login required
- Immediately accessible upon publication, with no embargo period
- Available for any lawful re-use, including commercial applications, subject to proper attribution
- Permanently citable via a Crossref DOI that resolves to the published record
- Preserved through stable hosting on the NJAP platform
How Open Access Is Funded
NJAP's open access model is sustained by article processing charges (APCs) contributed by authors or their institutions following manuscript acceptance. Readers, libraries, and research institutions are never charged for access to any content published in NJAP.
Creative Commons Licensing
All articles published in NJAP are distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0).
This licence grants any user the freedom to:
- Share: Copy, download, and redistribute the article in any medium or format
- Adapt: Transform, translate, remix, or build upon the article to create derivative works
- Use commercially: Incorporate the article into commercial products, services, or publications
Attribution Requirement
The single condition of the CC BY 4.0 licence is appropriate attribution. Users must:
- Credit the original author(s) and NJAP in the manner indicated
- Provide a link to the CC BY 4.0 licence
- Indicate clearly if any changes were made to the original material
- Not imply that the authors or NJAP endorse the re-use or the user's work

Open Access Principles
NJAP's open access commitment is grounded in the principles of the Budapest Open Access Initiative, the Bethesda Statement on Open Access Publishing, and the Berlin Declaration on Open Access to Knowledge in the Sciences and Humanities.
